Founder & CEO
JEM Electronics was founded in 1981 by the current President and CEO, John McDonald. After years of working in the wire and cable industry, he recognized companies were building custom cable and harness assemblies with traditional methods. His vision was to bring the industry into more modern times using the technological advances that were available in the 80’s. With his extensive knowledge in wire and cable manufacturing, he pursued his passion of solving problems for customers using this technology to ensure quality and repeat reliability to build JEM into the company it is today.
Today, JEM Electronics management team is still using the same principles that John set up many years ago, dedicating our resources to both human development and technology to seek growth at the company. The next generation at the company is investing in the team, whether it be getting green belt training, online training or in-person education classes. These will all help to develop a broader knowledge base of skills that will help advance JEM into the future. The use of technology has always been and will always remain an integrate part of our success. We believe in investing in the latest equipment and partnering with our machine companies to design machines that make sense for our industry.
JEM’s management team creates guidelines, goals, checkpoints, and objectives for employees to improve productivity and provide support and motivation. Through investing in both humans and technology, JEM has created an environment that promotes continual improvement, increases efficiency, reduces waste and provide customers with outstanding quality products. John’s passion to solve problems for customers led him to develop JEM Electronics many years ago and now with key leaders in the organization the company has built a reputation as a pioneer in the cable assembly world. The company has consistently grown and adapted to the evolving needs of its clients in various industries by developing strategic customer partners and supplier relationships, ensuring flexibility in response to an increasingly demanding marketplace.

Resources and Facilities
JEM’s state of the art manufacturing facilities in Franklin, MA and Tijuana, MX have been certified to meet the standards of ISO 9001:2015. JEM is registered by UL and CSA to manufacture products that meet the UL/CSA safety requirements, and we are also ITAR registered to provide custom cable assemblies for use in military equipment and U.S. government contractors.
